There is acute
shortage of Officers in the Armed Forces.
Very few youngsters are self motivated to join the Armed Forces. Most of the youngsters in Tamil Nadu are
unaware of the opportunities available in the Armed Forces.
In order to meet the need of the Armed Forces, it has
become necessary to conduct Publicity Camps at various places to create
awareness among the college students.
One such awareness camp was conducted by the Indian Air Force, with the
Air Force Publicity Bus Disha Cell conducted by the Air Force Station, Sulur, Coimbatore.
The Indian Air Force Publicity Team consisting of
Wg.Cder.V.S.Kumar, of SSB, Mysore, Sqn.Ldr.Dhanushkodi Raja , a Para Commander
and MWO Ramalingam PRO of the Team arrived at St.John’s College Playamkottai. On
hearing the news the Exwel Trust Team rushed to St. Johns’ College to welcome
them.
We Welcomed Wg.Cdr.V.S.Kumar, Sqn.Ldr.Dhanushkodi Raja
and MWO Ramalingam and offered our services to them. It was a well planned event. More than 2000 college students (Both girls
and Boys) visited the Publicity Bus in batches.
The bus was equipped with the models of modern Aircrafts of the Indian
Air Force with a Su 37 Flight Simulator.
The Simulator was a great experience to the
students. Many students were given
chance to sit in the cockpit and was given piloting experience of a fighter
aircraft.
Side by side Wg.Cdr.V.S.Kumar and Sqn.Ldr.Raja conducted
motivation classes and career guidance for Indian Air Force. More than 2000 students participated in the
class. The Career prospects in the
Indian Air Force explained by Wg.Cdr.V.S.Kumar very impressive and the
motivation lecture given by Sqn.Ldr.Raja in Tamil was emotional. The students were really impressed by his lecture. Wg.Cdr.V.S.Raja welcomed the students to the
SSB Mysore for the Selection with full confidence.
The programme as a whole was very useful for the college
students and we can say that it was a great success. We publish some photographs taken at the
function for your information. It was a great event.
WE REQUEST THE YOUNGSTERS TO COME FORWARD FOR THE DEFENCE OF THE COUNTRY. IT IS A GREAT PRIDE TO SERVE THE NATION IN THE ARMED FORCES THAN IN ANY PRIVATE ENTERPRISE.
